Got The Dahl 2.0

Ingredients :


  • 250 gr red lentils (previously soaked for 15min and drained) 

  • 5 garlic cloves 

  • 1 big chopped onion 

  • 1 can peeled tomatoes  

  • 3 tbs lime juice 

  • 1 tbs tomato purée 

  • 1 tsp curcuma 

  • 1 tsp chili flakes 

  • 2 tsp garam masala 

  • 750ml vegetable broth 

  • 2-3 tbs sunflower oil 

  • Salt and pepper (at your convenience) 


Method : 



Heat the oil in a pan on medium heat, then add the onions and cook them for 4-5mins. 


Add the garlic and cook it for 1-2mins.  


Add all the spices and let the spices blend with the onions and the garlic for 1-2mins. 

Add the tomato paste and let it cook for another 1-2mins so that all the flavors mix all well together. 


Stir in the lentils, the peeled tomatoes, the lime juice and the vegetable broth and mix for a few minutes. 


Bring the mixture to a boil. 


Once the mixture has come to a boil, reduce the heat to low and cook it covered for about 25mins, mixing occasionally, and then 10mins uncovered.

Serve the dahl with quinoa, yogurt of your choice, cherry tomatoes, avocado, spring onions and coriander
